Believe me, I wish I was able to throw fists of confetti to everyone reading this. There is nothing quite as beautiful as witnessing a dream become a reality. It’s like living in a world with no magic only to see it happen when you desperately needed it.
I would really want to start this off by thanking my friends and family for encouraging me to do this, thank you for believing in a boy who has spent forever chasing a light only he can see…and the blogging family of Dar Es Salaam, BINTIESQUE! What would I really do without you? Thank you for being my light-you are GOLD!
Honestly, sometimes, I believe that all it takes is one cold slap on the face to bring someone back into perspective. It was just a year ago when I had launched my clothing collection that got kicked out as soon as it got in, remember those infamous jumpsuits (that never got sold?) the business of fashion can be very unforgiving but only the best learn to master the art of turning failure to a lesson and then a success.
My relationship with fashion goes back when I was a child, but isn’t this a popular story told by so many creative people, even those who aren’t doing so well? But who am I to judge, who are you to judge? We love what we love, we sometimes fail in what we love but learn to pick ourselves when it happens, re-strategize, start over and then boom-Magic happens!
So if previous setbacks ever let you down, maybe this quote will help because it helped me.
Start now, start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start and don’t stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just…start.
(If by any chance any of you know the author behind that beautiful quote please share with us on the comment section below. Thank you!)
The River Gold for me is beyond fashion, style and Aesthetic pleasures. This is personal journal of me growing into my own style and my own self as a person. For the first time I am willing to let go of my introvert self, for the first time I am allowing myself to be free and explore every part of Douglas that always shied away and believe me, it feels soooo damn good.
So welcome to my Golden Journey.
